i want to know how to put myself into a self meditative state so i can plow through adjectives the work i have to do (that includes loosing the necessitate to sleep) any tips/ideas on how to perform this would be appreciated.

I lug you very seriously because I be in a outstandingly similar situation 33 years ago while attending College.

I was carrying 18 hours of classes, working partly days in the library to settle up my way through institution, and by the time I finished my home work; it was normally 3AM.

One day I happen to see a sign "Will teach meditation at my home", and I get the idea; that meditation might comfort my body get some of the rest I be missing.

I Highly recommend you begin meditation.

I would not recommend Actualism meditation, Zen, etc as the form of meditation because they hold your mind active and your body does not fully relax.

I would recommend that you do the form of meditation practised by the yogis.

In this you slow your breathing to anything is comfortable; then you listen intently for the nouns of a high pitched whistle close by the right ear. The yogis call this nouns and vibrational current the nada.

Just lie down, and listen the the nada, and as your body become more and more relaxed; the sound of the nada will become louder and louder until it sounds almost close to thunder.

I have intuitively stilled my mind to the degree that my body go into REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. It is a weird experience to be consciously awake and the body be asleep.

FYI I hold been doing assorted forms of meditation for more than 30 years, and founded the Lotus Sangha of Ellensburg, Wa, and initiate Zen.

Well taking this as a serious grill I would say the individual problem you have is mental but thats an view not an answer so here goes. If you really want to put urself contained by that kind of adjectives state the only track I've heard going on for doing it is through halucinagenics. Now I wonldn't suggest doing this, but you could take some LSD that would solve the problem and create oh so heaps more. Good luck witht that.
Put on some music, or sit out side if it does not have traffic rumpus, close your eyes, breath in your proboscis deeply later slowly(pushing out your breath as if you were near a straw) through your mouth. Repeat 3x then relax within a lounging position and control your breathing. Think of each bit of your body relaxing, then once you own achieved that start regenerate from bottom to top. Once you have finished hold a brisk walk, next you will be ready.
