Answer:
10 types of cancer?? Give me a break, or at most minuscule cite your sources for all these extreme contraindications. If you obtain it from a poor source, then yes, close to everything else, you might get what you reimburse for. Yes, it is a sedative, and in consequence by common sense it should be kept away from any other soporific or psychiatric meds or herbs. So no anti-depressants, anti-convulsants, or sedative of any kind while on valerian. Some psych meds might stay within your system for a long time, so ask a pharmacist if you were on any drugs similar to that in the recent past few months.

The one side effect I have found contained by speaking with other herbalists, is that nightmares result for some relatives. Out of the 25 or more people I know on valerian, three of the reported this. There are potential studies out there which can parallel a more accurate idea of how various people find this.

According to the American Botanical Council cited below, most people don't enjoy any problems at all beside it. They are even recommending it as out of danger during pregnancy, although I would look into this more before suggesting it.

The other suggestion I cited below is the University of Maryland Medical Center, and it has more info more or less some other possible side effects.
Liver failure, acidosis, kidney damp squib, insomnia, hot-sweats, convulsions, dry mouth, urinary tract infection, 10 types of cancer, lymph-disfunctions...

Well, the list is pretty long. Why, again, do you trust these drugs?

Good luck, anyway...
