I did relatively a bit of research, but couldn't find what you were requesting.. I did swot up a lot in the order of them though. They go below different names close to chinese health ball, iron balls, or baoding ball. I couldn't find a cross section, but profoundly of sites I came across described the inside as hollow near "chiming plates".
