Would I call for insurance to set up as a Reiki Healer. I am a Reiki Master by the course.?
Answer:
There are two kinds of "need"; a endorsed requirement and a smart thing to do!
Most states do not treat Reiki as a licensed flurry so no insurance is required by law. HOWEVER, if you don't hold a general liability policy and don't also enjoy all your clients respectively sign a waiver of liability and release prior to any instruction from you will mean that you will not practice exceptionally long!
The simple answer is, "yes", you NEED an insurance policy. Contact any local agent, and if he or his company does not write coverage for Reiki practitioners, contact your local Reiki support group or website and find one. They might also have a suggested release form that you can use...
Good Luck!!
I don't own a clue what a Reiki Healer is, but any time you open a business you should hold insurance! Not to mention an attorney on retainer.
Truthfully I don't believe you could get malpractice insurance, if that is to say what you mean. However you may be capable of get business/personal liabilty insurance.
Yes best to be not dangerous, I think it is a public liability insurance or something. Good luck near your Reiki I love that sort of thing, I enjoy just get into crystals and healing and I craving i had done it years ago. Good luck my friend!
You usually obligation some form of public liability insurance for any business. Also, being a woman you would be a Reiki Mistress.
Check with your insurance agent and grant him/her a free treatment. Then they will know exactly what Reiki is and be better able to push for you.
I would say that depending on your state regulation, the only point you would need for sure is liablity for personal property (someone slips and falls) and the contents of the business within case of fire or breaking and entering. Unless you are under the licensure of utter the state board of nursing or massage treatment or something then you probably dont enjoy or need malpractice insurance ( I do know what Reiki is & own had it before- some states put you into different category, and my bet is that you are unlicensed and that you dont even qualify for malpractice insurance, unless you are also a massage psychotherapist or a nurse.)
good luck
standard business liability insurance is always a apposite idea. i don't know if near are policies for reiki practitioners specifically, which would of course be more desirable if available. check beside ABMP, AMTA, IMA (massage organizations) to see if they offer that coverage or know of anyone who does. incidentally, if you ARE an mt, your reiki services may not be covered by your mould policy.
