My hub is a pharm Tech and requests to become a pharmacist. How abundant years of schooling..?
He has enrol into a LA city college and finished his first class.. we hope to transfer him to Univ Calif as a chemistry or math focal (4 years). and then verbs him over to a pharmacy school within California (3 years accelerated program).
BUT I HAVE HEARD that he can a moment ago do 2-3 years at a community college and just do the prerequisites for pharm college (associates amount?) and that he can get into pharm college contained by ANOTHER STATE? is this true? We might be willing to move out of state for a few years!! that would be exciting! HELP!
Answer: You can be admit to a school of pharmacy in need a bachelors as long as you have taken adjectives the prerequesite courses. It does not have to be contained by a different state, but you do need to hold past pharmacy experience (which he plainly does), you need an excellent PCAT win, and you need several packages of recommendation. His best bet is to enroll within a four year school and lift all the prerequesites (a central in chemistry will cover this as long as he in moderation picks his electives), take the PCAT as soon as he feel he can get a correct score (he'll entail to study material that he won't hold been exposed to nonetheless in a formal course, such as life chemistry), and then he can apply to pharmacy academy.
well my friend who is a pharmacist took 6 yrs, which be an accelerated program (because it usually take 8). because you need your doctorate to be a pharmacist. Considering that ur husband took some chemistry and some biology classes (which are pre-reqs), he would probably transport less time. Since he is contained by California, you'll need a bachelors to stay within the state. Some schools do adopt people short a bachelors, but they tend to do their prereqs at a regular 4 year school. The likelihood of being standard at an out of state school beside only CC experience is not apposite. A competitive CC only contender has a illustrious 3 GPA and a PCAT score greater than 90.
