I found a pill that's labeled Diphenhydramine within my daughters pant pocket?
It labeled to be 25 mg, it's a pink pill. what is this? could she have bought this from arts school? Is it dangerous?
Answer: It's benadryl. It's a adjectives antihistamine used for allergies and also is sold as a sleep aid. It is NOT one of the drugs so often self sold behind the pharmacy counter (like Sudafed) because it is an ingredient for homemade street drugs.
I would grill her and find out if she got it from a trusted friend, arts school nurse, a friend's parents, or simply bought it herself...and educate her on how to filch it properly when she needs it. But it's most feasible not a huge concern re: drug abuse or recreational use. If you don't want her to nick things without your permission/that you didn't impart her yourself...tell her so and agree to her friends' parents know as well as the conservatory nurse.
Editing now, reading other answers. I didn't know that Benadryl be a recreational drug now. It seem like a boring choice to me, trying to conjure the appeal for even a desperate teenager. If it is a drug trend though, you have need of to give that some consideration.
On the other foot it IS cold and flu season, and it helps near sneezy snotty noses. If your daughter have been sick, her possession of it is unbelievably likely appropriate.

That's benadryl...a pretty adjectives recreational drug used by kids because of it's woozy, dreamworld side affects. It's not too dangerous, especially one and only 25 mg, but they may be popping 5-10 at a time. Pill popping is not good, so you should converse to her about the danger of it. But don't get too thorny on her...maybe she wasn't passion well, or I don`t know someone gave it to her and she didn't want to nick it and put it in her pocket instead. Unlikely, but possible. its an antihistimine. It make you sleepy and clears your sinuses.
It's just an allergy pill.

Benadryl isn't a really scary drug surrounded by itself...although I guess almost anything can be scary if its abused. You buy them surrounded by the cold section at CVS. Sometimes (albeit rarely) I steal one or two if I need to sleep--my mom in fact told me to do that. But I'd never think of getting illustrious.
Sounds like your daughter *might* be thinking around getting into pills. But perhaps she is aware of how risky they are and is "starting out" next to something mild, just to experiment and to enjoy the bragging rights to say she's done *something*. Sadly, drugs are really "chic" in this day and age; I think that's the largest reason empire get into pills.
My guidance is to take it to her and utter, "Sally, I found this doing the laundry. It know its just a Benadryl, but is in attendance anything you want to tell me?" Then be silent and listen.
Sometimes the best instrument to make someone address is to just be really stillness. They try to fill that silence and train up saying a great deal. Don't tell her its an allergy pill (she might not know) and see what principle she comes up with for have it.
I wish I could communicate you what to do next. My sis have a short stint with pills until it land her in the hospital. But at least possible I can say she's not using them in a minute and is hard-working student at a apposite university. Just because someone starts, it doesn't always be determined they're doomed. But the sooner they quit, the better.
Sounds to me that it's an allergy med. I don't think it's precarious unless you take more than prescribed! Benadryl, it is purely an antihistamine..
