Tips on Meditation? How do you clear your mind?

i cant seem to gentle myself, or find my center. Any tips? Websites?

Answer:
The trick is not clearing your mind, but rather have one thought or point of focus that you can continuously return to.

Breath is a great focus for meditation, because it is always nearby when you're ready.

The mind will move, thoughts will come and jump. Whenever you notice that you are focussed on any thought, a short time ago gently return your attention to the breath. Just watch it moving in and out.

If you try to clear your mind you will simply frustrate yourself. "I inevitability to focus" is also a distraction, a thought, gently return your attention to the breath (or your focus thought, mantra, or object).
i step skateboarding. it makes me focus on what i am doing . and it clears my mind.
anyone vegetarian help me meditate. i like sandalwood too. :)
That is the hardest chunk for the beginner. I've be meditating for 10 years and I clear my mind simply by taking vast breaths in through the feeler, out through the mouth.

If you are a beginner, I'd start out by taking a long, hot hip bath before meditate. That will usually relax you enough to fire up. Once you catch on, man able to clear your mind won't be a problem.

Also, bring in sure there isn't going to be any loving of outside distraction. Turn off your phone, tv, ceiling fan.. anything that makes clap.
Focus on the breath. Being conscious of all things at once is the aim. But. Start and End near the breath. They'll become one continuous awareness in time. Start next to the breath. Don't break concentration from it. Eventually, you'll expand it from the breath, when you're in the focused rhythm, and you'll be capable of feel every part of the pack of your body at once while still focusing on breath. Then you'll be able to hear everything around you even the smallest sounds you'd never own heard formerly. With this, in time, you'll be capable of concentrate on your mental thoughts passing, your breath, your body, and the environment adjectives around you. Hold that long enough contained by one sitting, and you'll begin to explore mental states. It'll be automatic from nearby.
The best way I find is to in actual fact acknowledge the thoughts, give them their due, and afterwards let them stir.

The problem with "Empty your mind" is that we find preoccupied with doing it. It's a fundamental impossible task. However, if we basically acknowledge the thoughts runninng through our mind and then tolerate them go one by one, the process to stilling yourself become easier.

I hope that helps!
I trade name sure that I am alone and won't be interrupted. I make myself comfortable, but not so much that I will slump asleep. Then I slowly begin to sense my breathing and regulate it. You can also buy CDs that have soothing sounds on it that may abet you.
From the book I have read, within are two things to follow, 1)try to sit in a lotus position or lay down flat contained by your back near your thumb and middle finger touching, 2) Just listen to your heart beat.get the impression drowsy? Then it is working.
3) an additional tip. try vibrate your chest by humming the mmmnnnn... then time away for a couple of minutes then hum it again.mmmmnnn.. listen to the effect it gives, will divert your focus into nothingness. and when your mind resonances.relax and listen to your heart trounce. Feel the relaxing effect your heart gives contained by all your mortal.. peace!
The best CD I've found so far is Wayne Dyer's Getting In The Gap. It help me find that "sweet spot" quickly and consistently. You can find it on Amazon, Hay House, or charge it through your local bookstore.

Desires create thoughts.

So long as you hold desires, even the desire for no desires, there is thought.

When you realize desire is futile. here will be stillness.
