Does Melatonin really work?

I take 1-4mg and I newly get a neutral headache and insomnia...then I run to sleep and have little REM sleep

Answer:    I can work for some and others it can enjoy really adverse effects. Why did you start out with that dosage? If you're getting a headache at adjectives you probably only inevitability a 2.5 mg dose. I would highly suggest you cut back on the amount you're taking and if it still causes headache or interferes with your sleep guide then stop taking it altogether and try something else similar to Valerian.
For some people it does. Everyone is different. Your body make melatonin nightly. For someone having trouble near sleep, such as jet-lag or sudden changes contained by schedule, a supplement of melatonin can incontestably help.

I've never have a headache from it; sorry you have.

As for REM sleep, unless you've be sleep-monitored, how would you know whether or not you had REM sleep?
Melatonin seem to work for some people and not for others. If you are getting a headache, next discontinue use. There are other products on the market for insomnia.
