With respect to the use of the permanent status alternative in regard to medicine,.. the residence is used to refer to any form of healing to be precise not endorsed or promoted by the AMA (American Medical Association). ..... The AMA is a very powerful organisation that have dominated the field of pills in western culture for some time in a minute. The result has be the promotion of a "main stream" medical model i.e. based upon the treatment of condition with pharmaceutical medication and or surgery.

Any form or approach to healing i.e. not endorsed by the AMA is ultimately categorised as being "alternative",. simply worth, that it is another option that any tolerant has available to them, .. but it is sure not accepted by the AMA.

Alternative prescription for the most part includes most any form of approach to invigorating that is "natural", non invasive and supportive & respecting of the body's innate intelligence towards achieve it's own homeostasis naturally.

the word is not correct. it can be chemical addition or a word indicating a certain style of treatment that is mostly not chemical

Examples are: chiropractic, acupuncture, herbalism,-any form of treatment that does not require an operation or prescription drug injestment.

"Alternative" become a buzz word and sales gimmick far too normally. Just means a non-standard course of looking at healthcare, but a lot of what used to be alternative, is in a minute standard because all principal insurances are now paying for chiropractic, acupuncture, herb and all concerned of stuff that used to be considered way out here.
Alternative doesn't mean better, although it can be sometimes. If I or my kids have a serious illness, I wouldn't trust herb or meditation to take aid of it. See the movie "Man In The Moon" about Andy Kaufman - here is a great scene in it where on earth he goes to a cancer treatment center that turns out to be a nouns.

Meatball7 said it best. The AMA is now so aligned next to the pharmaceutical industry - and the pharmaceutical industry is ALL about $$$ - that a sagacious individual would do well to research and attend to their own vigour.
