What is the difference between appetizing cooking oil and the holder oil used within aromatherapy?

I am very interested within experimenting with the possessor oils used contained by aromatherapy. However, where I come from (Singapore), aromatherapy is not such a big item and thus their products are quite exorbitantly priced. I be wondering if I could substitute edible oil for the carrier oil (e.g. sunflower oil, sesame grease, olive oil etc.) Has anyone tried formerly?

Answer:
Theroretically yes. But most cooking oils are processed to dispense them a longer shelf life - this is not so righteous for aromatherapy. That's partly why possessor oils sold for aromatherapy can give the impression of being more expensive.
If looking in the cooking oil look for oils which say aloud they are "cold pressed" and/or "virgin" which means the first pressing. Sunflower grease is often processed, so I would be suspicious of that. Cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil would fit the bill, but can enjoy a strong smell and some aromatherapists dislike it for that reason. If using sesame grease make sure it is not the toasted edition often used within cooking. You might want to experiement with mixtures of different oil as they all behave differently and enjoy different aromas.
yes you can easily do that. olive grease and sesame oil are regularly used. Don't used heavy sesame beside a string nutty odour though as this will mask the essential oil. try grapeseed oil, if you can find it but any muted odourless cooking grease will do.
I've used olive oil. Wouldn't recommend sesame or sunflower though. Sesame is too aromatic and sunflower is too usually too processed.
