Herpes virus??

I have have a sore, red, swollen knuckle for about a month. It get worse around Christmas and the skin is very red and I own 2 open areas on the nouns. The doc told me it could be bacterial and gave me 3 weeks of cephalexin. It does look better, but still is not medicinal as well as I would judge it should after 9 days of cephalexin. He told me it could also be a viral infection of some kind and mentioned herpes. I own an appt with a dermatologist subsequent week if it does not get better. Has anyone have any experience with a viral skin infection?? Please assistance. Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

Answer:
Most useful is the amino sharp lysine, which, when taken orally, suppresses the growth of HSV-1; within cream form, lysine can be applied directly to the sores. It's fine to use long term and may serve prevent cold sores from forming. Also effective is a melissa cream made from the potent antiviral herb Melissa officinalis; use at the first sign of tingling.

What Else You Can Do -
Don't touch the blisters. This can spread the virus, as can sharing personal items such as towels, razor, drinking glasses, or toothbrushes.

Stay away from nuts, chocolate, whole-grain cereal, and gelatin. They contain a large amount of the amino sour arginine, which some doctors think triggers cold sores. Lysine may counteract its effect.

Supplements can be undamagingly used with prescription antiviral creams, such as acyclovir or penciclovir, which also promote invigorating of cold sores.

Holding an ice cube to the artificial area for a few minutes several times a hours of daylight can help fall pain and dry out the cold sore.
If it is Herpes, the best entry for it is camu camu fruit. See site below. It is number one of antiherpetic herbs even though it be not put up yet.

i focus it depends upon what you do for a living? do u use your hands alot?

I get bit by a deer tick...and at the same time have a nail infection...the dr...put me on 6 weeks of doxycilian...and, both cleared up...doxycillian(sp)? seem to clear up alot of stuff all around so ask your dr...for this..
You should assegai it. Just cut it open and drain it.
The best item I have ever used for cold sores, which are herpes, is Lactinex. Ask your pharmacist. They save it in the refrigerator. It replaces the fit microbes in our system. The pharmacist told me the wholesome microbes suppress the herpes virus. It does not cure it, just represses it. Sometimes I enjoy been competent to avoid a cold sore altogether by starting on Lactinex at the first tingle or sign a cold sore is coming. I quit taking it after the threat has passed. My second choice is Acidophilis which works going on for the same instrument, but seems much slower to me. It is contained by the vitamin section of the store.
I do not know if this will serve, but I hope so. I am surprised to hear of a herpes infection on the knuckle.
I have also hear that apple cider vinegar applied topically helps some skin conditions. Maybe these concept can give you some nouns until you see your dematologist.
Good luck, dear.
