Answer: I think here might be some confusion (which explains why nobody has answered yet). UTI is a Urinary Tract Infection, while UDI is typically referring to a Unique Device Identification (basically a medical device lower than the skin).
If you get an infection from a UDI, after you should probably go to the doctor to hold it looked at, as the device might have be put in wrong.
D-Mannose DOES relief for Urinary Tract health (as does Cranberry), which may prevent a UTI (which I believe is what you're asking). As far as side effects/cautions, adjectives that's listed is not to pilfer it if you're pregnant or nursing.
If you're referring to UTI, then yes, Dmannose works wonders. It should be without blemish safe for anyone as it is simply a inbred fruit sugar. Taste it. My bottle has no warning on it. I use NOW brand and have for years. It even is safe and sound for diabetics to take. I pinch a teaspoon ever few waking hours when I own an infection. Can be mixed in milk or cranberry juice(not cranberry cocktail--too much of the wrong kindly of sugar in that) I also clutch a cranberry supplement and my enteric coated probiotics(like biobeads)
Dmannose works by attaching to bacteria clinging to the bladder, weigh the bacteria down so they are flushed out when you urinate. A naturalistic doctor told me something like dmannose years ago when I kept getting persistent bladder infections and needed antibiotic after antibiotic which be doing more harm than anything.
