I use a hand mixer to blend my essential grease formulas (oils or lotions).

Also, mixing near a hand blender isn't recommended - for oil, just roll the bottle between your hand. Lotions are a little more difficult, but you can mix it using a wooden spoon. You don't want to adulterate the oil with any others as that can affect their properties.
Use DAWN dishwashing soap. I cleans oil beautifully. i assume what you are doing write now is fine
Any citrus base cleanser will lift the oil
