Are bell-peppers really the best raw resource of vitamin C?
I've heard this only just couple of times before, but adjectives my life i've thought that lemons and oranges be the best resource of Vitamin C. Does anyone know for sure?
Answer:
Here is the Vitmain C content-
Red Bell pepper ( 1/2 cup,raw ): 283.1 mg
Green Bell Peppers ( 1/2 cup,raw): 119.8 mg
Lemon liquid ( raw, liquid of 1 lemon): 21.6 mg
Lime juice ( fresh, juice of 1 lime ): 11.4 mg
Orange liquid ( raw, liquid of 1orange): 43.0 mg
As far as I know, rose hips are actually the best "natural" resource of vitamin C. Not single do they contain an absurdly lofty amount, but the way it is carried help your body more easily occupy the vitamin C, which is why you'll often see bottles of "Vitamin C near Rose Hips."
Bell Peppers have SOME vitamin C contained by them, as do all fruits. but at hand are a lot of other fruits that own higher amount of Vitamin C and a great deal of fruits have sophisticated ORAC ratings (which is how antioxidant's potencies are measured).
Lemons, Oranges, and other citrus fruits are most commonly known for their vitamin C content, but within are other non-citrus fruits with difficult ratings. Blueberries for example have a highly developed ORAC rating than Oranges.
RAW red bell peppers enjoy the highest vitamin C content of any fruit or vegetable. 3-4 times as much as an red. Check out this website and it will give you US gov't stats on adjectives nutrients for all foods.
