What does this drug do?


Its called "Citalopram HBR 20 MG TABLETINW". It be prescribed from my doctor to me and i was wondering what it be for. I mean i know its for my depression but close to what does this drug do basically? How long will it give somebody a lift for my depression to be gone completely? It started in 2005 during the summer and immediately its just getting worse my doctor said its developing slowly how long will it cart to get rid of it? and plus what does this medication do?
