Natural and important mosquito repellent?
Are there any supplements that that work effectively as a mosquito repellent (either as the major use, or as a side effect), and that are safe for a 2 year prehistoric? We are going to Honduras soon to visit, and I am looking for the easiest and safest opening to avoid the mosquitos while we are there. I also don't want to own to carry sprays or creams near us and have to save reapplying them. Or are there any long-lasting repellants that you can merely put on once a day?
Answer: I agree beside Tango's suggestion about B-vitamins. Vegemite is locked for a 2-year-old but if he's not accustomed to it he may refuse to munch through it. It's worth a try and you parents can always choke it down. Excess B-vits are excreted through perspiration & urine and don't build up contained by the body much at all.
Garlic is another right repellent, because of the high sulpher content. If babe won't eat it, cut a clove surrounded by half & rub the fresh grease over the bottoms of his feet every darkness while you're in the tropics. It will engage into his bloodstream.
Topically, cedarwood oil surrounded by a 1% solution is toxic to several insects, including mosquitos, so they avoid it like crazy. Buy a pure essential grease and put one drop in a teaspoon of unscented lotion or grease. Smooth over exposed skin, avoiding contact with mucous membranes. It will end about 1/2 a time, then reapply. Vitamin b is a great untaught insect repellant. Take supplements every day starting a couple of weeks previously your trip if poss. Mosquitos can't stand the smell of the b being excreted through your skin (check the vitamin dose is ok for your 2-year old).
Marmite and Vegemite (yeast extract spreads) also work. Have a great holiday! Yeah B vitamins, similar to brewer's yeast and topically applying good outdated Avon's Skin So Soft (think it is the bath oil) would be the means of access to go..//
