I'm taking 300 mcg of Melatonin and can't give the impression of being to sleep. Can I without risk increase the doseage to two tablets??

Answer:
Common dosages are 1mg, 2mg, and 3mg.......3 being the max developed dosage. Talk to your doc if that doesn't work. GNC has a virtuous dissolve tablet in cherry flavor. Works great!!!!! Best brand we've found.
You are taking 300 mcg ( microgram ) not mg ( milligram)?
If mcg is correct you can increase to two tablets.

Dosage -
For insomnia: Take 1 to 3 mg up to that time bedtime.

Guidelines for use: To combat insomnia, stick to a precise schedule, taking supplements at like time every evening. Begin with the lowest dose and increase it as needed.

For most ethnic group, melatonin causes drowsiness 30 minutes after taking it. This effect may end for several hours, so you should not drive or handle hard to digest machinery during this time. Other side effects can include headache, stomach upset, lethargy, or disorientation. Some individuals report that melatonin can do fuzzy thinking upon waking, or vivid and sometimes unpleasant dreams, and even cause insomnia worse. Others find that the effects wear off like a shot with continued use.
Melatonin is a hormone instinctively produced in your own body when contained by a dark environment. Under most circumstances supplementing your own glowing system will not be helpful. People who benefit most from melatonin are those who work shift work (and requirement to sleep during the day) and those who are crossing time zones during travel. I do not see much positive aspect in increasing your dose.

Alternatively, you might want to consider a hypnotic approaching kava kava or camomile tea.
I haven't seen anything smaller number than 500mcg. I personally use between 4.5 and 5 mg every darkness. Melatonin is relatively safe to use. One of the most adjectives side effects are nightmares. I would suggest you try 4 of the 300mcg melatonin about 60 minutes in the past bed. Increase the dosage by 50% every night if you do not plummet asleep. Hope this helps.
Melatonin never worked for me. I use homeopathics from Hyland's - call Calms Forte.
