Dosage Queston?
Ok, so lets speak you have a public house of xanax (2 mg) and you cut that bar surrounded by half and lift it, would that be the same as taking 1 mg of xanax? And if you cut it contained by 4 parts would it be the same as taking .5 mg of xanax?
Answer:
No not unless it's score.
Xanax is an anti-anxiety tab made to specific doses there would be no want to say "Oh my anxiety isn't so impossible today, I think I will drop my dose down to .5". Besides you're not the doctor.
The premise is there but next to tablets there is no exact science on dosage unless the factory owner scores the tab. Most pharmacist will articulate this, however, I know I prescribe prednisone and cut the tabs for patients (even though they're not scored) so the correct answer is no but since you can do simple drug math I would right to be heard in idea yes!
Good question though!
P.S. Quick disclaimer, I don't propose recreational drug use nor should you get your medical proposal from the Internet. Please see a physician for all of your medical wishes:)
yes
If you have to split your pills turn to the pharmacy and they have pill spliters and they will split it evenly so you will procure the correct dossage.
If you are supost to take a smaller dose and the pharmacy give you those and you are to cut them you can ask the pharmacy to do it for you when you get the Rx most do not charge for this if they do not hold to pills in the right dose
the solitary drugs that you should not split is the long acting ones because they have a coating that slows the rate the drug get into your system
on the label after the mark of the drug it will say CR
or controlled release
or long acting
yes yes and yes
Absolutely. I would avoid taking the total bar. unless you wanna capture so hammered that you dont remember anything. I am on 1 mg 2x a afternoon and i feel great. but yeah your dosage is correct
It would be duplicate, BUT it would have to be cut exactly contained by 1/2 or fourths to get the right dosage. Take what your dr. ordered and do not switch the dosage unless he/she tells you to. You hold been prescribed a secure dosage for a reason..stick to it..
A tombstone (the white bar) is equivlant to four blue xany's. partially being only two, and yes a quarter would be the same as taking a peach colored one. one blue is two peaches, four blues is a tombstone
I be given 1/2 tablet of risperidone as one of my daily medication when i be in the ward because that be the only available less important dosage.
