You probably have a sensitivity or allergy to cabbage. It probably wouldn't be sagacious to eat any compassionate of cabbage-cooked or otherwise. Or at least put away very little. It may be affecting you within other ways and the burning is just a path of warning you. You could be getting things from it you are not aware of-diarrhea, headache, coughing, hives, itchy skin, stuffy nose, itchy eyes, any number of things. And, NO, it's not common for it to burn the roof of your mouth.
