it's not home made but you could go to wal mart or something and find airborne. its close to these little effervescent things. They made my throat be aware of better.
There is no cure for the flu, get lots of rest, run medicine for sinus, that will clear up the pressure because you probibly hold sinus congestion and not the flu.
Take a hot bath and enjoy soup. The most important point is to rest.

my mom other told me to use Chicken noddle soup, and drink the Chicken broth and its never to late to put away a lot of fruit near vitamin C to help build more imperviousness in your system
My Grandma's method:
Campbell's chicken noodle soup, lots of fluids, hose or sports drink to rehydrate you. Sleep as much as you can if you wake up next to the sweats, take a shower, replace your blanket, and repeat.
