Copper isn't that toxic to humans, so you would have to chow down on like mad of electrical cord to do this to yourself. It is also found in some aquarium products and vitamin/mineral supplements.
yes, copper absorts though the skin when handle thats why you itch when you mess with it near no gloves, copper poioning is rare
but the worst side affects are mostly itching.
I know a guy who was taking copper supplements because he hear it would help his pelt turn back from gray to his "younger" color. He developed a fundamentally aggressive form of thyroid cancer that killed him rapidly. The doctors attributed it to the copper supplementation.
