Is kava worse for your liver than alcohol?

ive heard it's unpromising for the liver, but how much is too much?

Answer:
There was a big fury over this topic going on for 5-6 years ago. The concern came from a study done that suggested that the Kavalactones (active ingredient) surrounded by Kava Kava caused liver mess up. What the study also said, but was unseen by the media (this be when Kava was REALLY hot within the natural products world), be that some of the people person tested ALSO either have a history of drinking or had a pre-existing liver condition. The study also stated that they used several different Kava products within the study, some of which used Acetone to extract the active ingredient from the root, which raise the question: Could Acetone enjoy effected the results of the study by cause liver damage?

All of the follow-up research that I've read have either not be able to replicate the results of the study, or have disproved it altogether based on using a more controlled group of population, with kava products that used any alcohol or water to extract the moving ingredient instead of harsh chemical solvents. The certainty is, native cultures within Vanuatu and the polynesian islands have used Kava on a day after day basis for hundreds of years minus liver problems.

That said, it is still recommended that people who already enjoy a liver condition do not use Kava based on the potential that it could worsen the condition. I still use it from time to time when I carry stressed out and I'm not concerned in the smallest, as long as I know I'm using a good one.
large does are said to be toxic according to some so called studies. I dont know. I used to purloin it alot , it makes you sleepy. Alcohol I would say aloud is worse.,And so are the side effects.
