Metronidazole and alcohol?


I know all of the side effects of have alcohol with this drug but what i want to know is..will it make the medication less successful?


Answer:    Mixing metronidazole and alcohol can cause nausea, vomiting, flushing, headache and stomach spasm. And yes it can reduce the the efficiency of the antibiotic. Drinking while taking this made me violently not at your best. I wouldn't recommend it.
You cannot drink alcohol whilst taking this particular antibiotic - you will quality ill and its usefulness will be reduced.
