Has anyone use a neti pot?
My husband has horrifying sinus and allergy problems. He wants to buy an irrigation system for $100. I surmise it's an expensive water pick. I found plentiful different neti pots online and was wondering if anyone have used one and found relief.
Answer:
Yes $100 is damn expensive. Don't buy it. Buy a neti pot though I hold no idea more or less online neti pots, see if you can
get it at a local drug store or any naturopathy centre or Yoga centres. If preferable buy a steel one instead of plastic unless
ofcourse the plastic is of a difficult grade and can be sterlised
regulary for on a daily basis use. The biggest mistake new comers do
while doing neti is not draining the wet which gets logged into
the sinus nouns and this results in more complications. In certainty many enjoy had their sinus problem more aggravated giving an excuse for other theraphy practioners to criticse neti practise.
The thumb rule is: 1. For every use the pot have to be sterlised. 2. Use lukewarm/blood heat wet to fill the neti pot. 3. Don't use excess brackish - just one tablespoon of discreet salt for big neti pot and for smaller text one teaspoonfull will do. 4. Don't forget to drain the excess water gripped in the sinus nouns. This is simply done by keeping your husbands two feet apart and both the hand resting on the waistline. Then bend forward a bit and keeping mouthclosed blow thru the nose forward, to the rear, sideways (left and right) by turning your head. Do this for nearly 6 to 10 times or till you experience no spray of water coming out from your feeler. 5. After this exercise sit down in Vajrasana (the resolute posture) wherein you sit with legs bent at the knees and hips resting on them. Gently lower your forehead to the ground. This could be a problem if your husband has a paunch, also if he have a backache then slight cheating can be done wherein you thicken the gap between two knees and this facilitate easy lowering of the person in charge. If he stilol has a problem lowering his forehead to the ground afterwards he may kneel down and hang on to a small stool in front of him and consent to him lower his forehead on it. This is done to further drain the sinus from the excess water logged surrounded by. 6. Neti pot exercise is to be done daily for atleast a month and next it can be done on a weekly once basis.
Consuming horse-radish and capsicum (green pepper preferably) is just what the doctor ordered to get over the sinus draining.
Lastly performing Linga mudra help to dry the mucous from the sinus and lung area. Only precaution contained by executing this mudra is that it generates lot of boil in the body hence your husband must compulsorily drink lots of water atleast 8 to 10 specs. The mudra is formed by clasping fingers of both the palms together and keeping only the thumb of one foot up. When you finish holding it to a maximum of 25 minutes you alternate the position so that other thumb is held up and you continue again holding for another 25 minutes so total time is 50 minutes. Ofcourse at the start permit your husband hold it for 5 minutes each beside respective thumb. Good luck and God bless.
yes, and ended up getting an ear infection from it. the river not only run into my nose, but into my ear.
It is beneficial, but please check near an ayurvedic practioner either online or within your neighborhood. There are different types of fluids that you can use in the neti. If properly used, they won't stir beyond your nose.
