Know of any unprocessed Sleep Inducers? Melatonin isnt not dangerous or regulated & chamomile/milk/sleep-tea have no effect?

I have hear of lavendar oil, kava kava, hops, valerian root, & love flower but I am on the nuva ring (birth control) so I need to be impressively careful of mixing medication. Have any of these worked for you guys? I'm looking for something as safe and significant as possible that hopefully is regulated or proven to be effective. Melatonin I enjoy taken the last few days and while it works- it increases the duration of my sleep so I cant even hear my alarm within the morning and I have be getting up way delayed, not to mention it has made me MOODY! Personal experiences & cited information are the best.
Thanks a ton!

Answer:
I used to offer my children a bath surrounded by a strong infusion (1/2 oz herb to one quart water) of American skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) when they were little and they have such a peaceful sleep. It is out of danger, gentle, and will not conflict near your nuvaring. It can also be injested as a pill or tea.

You would also be okay with lavender and passionflower. As a practicing herbalist for 24 years and a licensed acupuncturist, I habitually perscribe these herbs surrounded by combination to my patients with great results and hold taken them myself when having trouble sleeping.

Some herb do mimic hormones, so I understand your concern, but these are not phyto-estrogenic rich herb. My patients who are on birth control use an herb combination to protect their liver also. Please contact me if you want more information on that subject.

It sounds like you own tried a few remedies already. Sometimes insomnia can be caused by a withdrawal of neurotransmitters in the brain. These brain chemicals bring back used up by stress of one kind or another and involve to be replaced. I use a supplement called Neubecalmd to do this. It is an adjectives natural amino sharp and vitamin supplement. I have included the correlation below. Good Luck
When I am wound up and cannot get to sleep; I start meditate in bed, and 10-15 minutes after that I am out like a bedside light.
I have found for myself, that meditation help dramatically. If you have those errant thoughts running around within your head at bedtime that basically won't give you any peace, afterwards try deep breathing in recent times before bed time and meditation. By tensing and relaxing the muscles surrounded by your body, you can help yourself to relax and sleep. Simply focus on your toes first, stressed the muscles then relax them once or twice, consequently move on to the subsequent group when you feel your toes are relaxed. Go up your body, your foot would be next, consequently ankles, calves, knees, thighs, bottom, stomach, back, chest, shoulders, arms and hand respectively, then on to your nouns, and face, by the time I find to my neck, I'm usually asleep. My mom qualified me to do this when I was a kid and couldn't sleep because I have so much energy running around contained by me.

I hope this helps. It's nice to know that in that are things that you can do that don't require any medication at all, isn't it? Good luck my sleepless friend!
