Urocit K for the prevention of kidney stones?
I was newly put on some of that.. anything i need to know? Is anybody here taking it?

Hi Lasey B, urocit K is used to sort the urine less sour. This effect helps the kidneys take rid of uric acid, thereby helping to prevent gout and kidney stones. This medication can also prevent and treat particular metabolic problems (acidosis) caused by kidney disease.
You have need of know , that many relatives using this medication do not have serious side effects. But also, this drug may end in serious stomach or intestinal problems (e.g., bleeding, blockage, puncture). Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects go on: abdominal swelling, black/bloody stools, constipation, dizziness, fast heartbeat, severe stomach/abdominal aching, difficult/painful swallowing, severe vomiting, vomit that looks like coffee grounds.
This medication may inflict high potassium level in the blood (hyperkalemia). Tell your doctor urgently if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: muscle cramps/weakness, severe dizziness, slow/irregular heartbeat, mental/mood change (e.g., confusion, restlessness), tingling of the hands/feet, unusually cold skin.
A very serious allergic aversion to this drug is rare. However, want immediate medical attention if you awareness any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: imprudent, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
