Is it possible for RA to become Osteoarthritis?
Answer:
RA and Osteo are BOTH types of arthritus... they are not interchangeable... HOWEVER... I do believe many general public that are told they have Osteo in fact have RA... RA is the disfiguring arthritis... it completely eat joints away... is extrodinarily sensitive... and can invade soft tissue's of the body...
Osteo.. is more normal after an injury to a pooled... a broken bone.. or excessive wear to a joint.. runners usually cessation up with osteo within their knee's.
With that said.. it is better to talk to your Doc... if you enjoy RA.. it will show up in blood work..<in general but not always> 2 test's that should be run for RA are the RA factor and the Sedimentation rate... both can be indicators.
If I had to engender a choice between the 2 believe me.. I would be hoping for Osteo.
Good luck
not really. you can have both, but RA doesnt turn into osteoarthritis. everyone get OA, its basically cause from aging and wear and tear on the join. RA is less adjectives (i think something approaching 1-2% of people seize it in their lifetime), it is an autoimmune disease, where on earth your own immune system gets confused and attacks the inside layer of joints and is usually worse
