High blood pressure remaining after quiting St. John's wort?

If taking St. John's wort were to lead to high blood pressure, would my blood pressure step down and return to normal once I stop taking it? Or is it lastingly higher immediately because I took the herb, even though I stopped?

Answer:    Basically your question is, Is an adverse effect of St. John's Wort soaring BP, and if so will stopping the medication return me to baseline BP?

The active ingredient within St. John's wort is something called hypericum perforatum (incidentally it is also the christen of the beautiful plant that it is extracted from).

Another factor that comes into play is how much are you taking? ePocrates states that for depression, mild-moderate you should rob 300mg PO tid (by mouth, three times a day) or 1200 mg PO qd (mouth, once a day) that is near a 0.3% hypericin extract. Other uses for this are OCD, pre-menstrual syndeome, and somatoform disorders.

One thing to remember is that this is a drug. Just becuse you can attain it without a perscription doesn't expect that it is not harmful when taken incorrectly. So here is the serving spoon.

On the list of side effects anxiety dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, GI discomfort, headache, hypomania, skin over-hasty. (not High Blood Pressure)

One thing that I will influence is DON'T abruptly discontinue this medication. Slowly lower your dose. Talk to you physician nearly it.

Another question that I own is did you notice the conveyance in blood pressure until that time or after stopping the medication?
