Has anyone tried the up to date pill (Chantix) to quit smoking? I'm have horrible side effects, is anyone else?

If so, what are they?

Answer:
I took Chantix for 3 months (starting last October). The solitary side effects that I had be weird dreams (and boy be they weird), upset stomach, and trouble sleeping.

The upset stomach started from day 1 and by sunshine 6 or so had gotten impossible enough that I thought I be going to throw up every time I had a cigarette. Once I stopped smoking on year 8 the upset stomach only kicked within for about 30 minutes after I took the drug. After awhile it disappeared completely.

The trouble sleeping also went away after a week or so on the top dosage. After that I was truly sleeping better than I normally would. I enjoy to say I miss that side effect!

Good luck using Chantix. I've be smoke free since October!
Varenicline (Chantix(R), Pfizer, usually in the form of varenicline tartrate) is a prescription medication used to treat smoking addiction. This medication is the first approved nicotinic receptor partial agonist. In this respect it reduce cravings for and decreases the pleasurable effects of cigarettes and other tobacco products, and through these mechanism may assist some patients in smoking cessation. In May 2006, it be approved for sale surrounded by the United States. On August 1, 2006, Pfizer announced that Chantix was available for public sale in the United States, and on September 29, 2006, it be approved for sale within the European Union with the trade cross Champix.

Side-effects include:

* Nausea
* Headache
* Vomiting
* Flatulence
* Insomnia
* Abnormal dreams
* Dysgeusia (alteration in taste)
I did too until I realize until I realized I be supposed to take it vocally.
Yes, I'm currently using it (7.5 weeks now) and I have to articulate it's been hugely effective for me. I've be a heavy smoker for over 40 years and I tried the patch,inhalers,etc. and none help. Then I realized I be just substituting one nicotine nativity system for another-how dumb is that? The only side effect I've notice is that my dreams are much more vivid. I'm sorry to hear about your hostile response to it. Perhaps your doctor needs to adjust the dosage until you become more accustomed to it. Hope that works for you as the benefits of not smoking are almost straight away appreciated. Good luck!
Chantix side effects should dissipate over time. For more Chantix information, click the following link: http://www.121doc.co.uk/affiliate/script...
I haven't used Chantix, but I used Zyban which is also prescibed and extraordinarily similar. Zyban users can suffer the same side effects as all right.

The only side effect I have with Zyban (which I haven't hear of anyone else suffering with...abnormal...) was that I feel itchy at various stages. It feel like I have heaps of tiny fleas biting me and when I scratched, I would come up in massive welt that would stay for a couple of hours. It would happen usually on my arms or put money on and at infrequent times, but it was really mortified (try not stratching an itch when you have one!!)

This solely happened within the second month of my treatment though, the first month and third month were great!!
