I assume you are conversation about humans and not animals.......I guess it is where on earth you are in go and how much suffering you have see......I am a retired nurse and I think it should be legalized, but below very strict law.....like if the creature themselves wants it and they are terminal and within overwhelming pain next yes........If a person within brain dead, muscles contracted, bedsores, no family unit, living just by tubes and machines consequently yes...like I said it depends on what you've see, what you think is tolerable and what isn't....I guess all child molesters should be euthanized......this is a short time ago my opinion and it is a hot subject so be prepared for the answers you will procure..........good luck on your essay............................
The basic reason is that those of us who graduate medical school took some text of the Hippocratic Oath (alternatively, the Oath of Geneva). Both are felt to be at the heart of what we do as Physicians, and both contain statements which preclude euthanasia.
In the Hippocratic Oath: "I will prescribe regimens for the apposite of my patients according to my ability and my sensitivity and never do harm to anyone. To please not a soul will I prescribe a deadly drug nor furnish advice which may make happen his death."
In the Oath of Geneva: " Even lower than threat, I will not make use of
my medical knowhow contrary to the laws of humanity."
Interestingly ample, both oaths traditionally contain promises not to complete abortions, and both contain statements which esseintially exclude women from the study of medicine. As such, they are feel to be outdated.
I can't help you to much within you quest against euthanasia, but I am pro Dr assisted suicide but that's a far cry from state sponsor euthanasia. I've pulled the plug on many people dying in extreme agony, who are imploring to die, but for the state to come in and resolve is crazy, these people can't even survive my taxes or social services properly let alone something as personal as and extremity of lie scenario. I loathe to think of the situation surrounded by essence i my daughter fell into a river and was frozen for five minutes to do CPR or not. I sure as heck would because I know the cold sea studies in children but some elected representatives bean counter? I doubt it very much.. apt luck. it's a debate that needs to be discussed more and more.
Anytime you ask a so-called "ethics" ask, you are assuming that such a thing as nouns exist. A "ethic" as you called it must enjoy an absolute standard by which it is measured; otherwise it is merely an judgment. If you regard God's Word as a source of out-and-out truth, then you can deem euthanasia unprincipled based upon the certainty that God commands us not to snuff (murder). An individual or society that bases its standards single upon majority opinion, or a minority who own the power to enforce their opinions on the common herd, rather than God's proper standards found in, for example, the Ten Commandments" will ultimately become corrupt, disregarding the intrinsic good point all race have and thus see the unconvincing or feeble as expendable. I would vote though that a terminally sick person surrounded by extreme agony who says they no longer want to be hooked up to machines, or bear large doses of drugs should hold the right to refuse treatment, and thus put his/her energy in God's hand. There is a big difference between withdrawing medical treatment and intentionally injecting a person next to a lethal go ending shot which is what euthanasia essentially is.
Your conclusion is base on what? Your presuming that euthanasia is unethical. How abundant people own you known who enjoy died by their own will? Most folks who just don't want to stay here simply stop ingestion. They don't last long after that. Some citizens want to die but aren't given the option to stop consumption. If they are in a hospital the team put an I V in them and pump nutrients into the body. Hospitals won't permit you die even when your own decision wishes it to happen. They don't resembling people dying contained by the building because of the fear that someone will sue them for negligence. You come to this universe by choice and you leave by choice, most of the time. It might give support to if you adjust your premise before adopt a conclusion.
there is a christian perspective that puts a glorious value on human duration. of course, society is built of culture. perhaps you could argue that euthanasia is close to breaking down the foundation of the way we live.
