If you clutch herbal medicine how do you know which ones you can give somebody a lift together and which ones you shouldn't.
Answer: Find a good inherent medicines book, or your local library or college library and look for the raw medicines database. Also heaps pharmacist can look them up for you, and pubmed.com should have resources for you.
Good press! When in doubt, don't. sometimes you can Google both medicine (e.g., goldenseal and colloidal silver) and see if there are any contraindications. Also you could ask around them both on Y!A.
OH - and don't assume you can take herbals near western meds. So, for instance, you can't take St. John's Wort near antidepressants and some others... because it pretty much is an antidepressant and you'll be overdosing yourself.
When I make choices to purloin two things at once, I have to quality pretty confident of the risks/dangers because I don't want to have more problems!
Ther are some upright reference books on the open market that one should have on foot at all times that will speak about you what goes next to what. One I believe is by a Doctor Weil(spelling?) Google him as well and I would invest within such a book if you feel you would close to to take herbal meds on a regular principle. The others gave perfect answers

Go to a good condition food or alternative medicine store and win PROFESSIONAL advice. It's the ONLY protected way to transport herbal supplements! Anyone who is going to use herbs as medicine needs to invest surrounded by a good citation book or two. Most health food stores hold a reference they will permit you look at in the store.
There are not massively many herbal medicine that clash with respectively other. However, there are profusely of herbal meds that certain family shouldn't use, or that can't be safely used contained by certain circumstances. So one must tutor oneself. Be especially cautious if you are pregnant, nursing or enjoy a disorder like epilepsy or glorious blood pressure.
For best results, don't try to fix everything at once. Focus on your biggest problem first. For instance, if you are fighting an infection, stick next to it until it's resolved. Then you might look at supplements to help beside hair loss or indigestion. I other take a modern supplement for at least a couple of weeks previously adding anything to it. That path if I have an adverse repercussion I know what caused it.
Everyone's body is different and their tolerances will change. I often "overdose" on Echinacea to escape a cold. But even the standard (60 mg) Gingko extract is too strong and makes me own dizzy spells.
Some herbs work especially all right together, like Echinacea & Goldenseal (immune system) or Gingko, Rosemary & Ginseng (memory) or Feverfew & White Willow (pain). You will pick up on some of this by reading supplement label at the health food store.
