My Grandson is seven years old & have terrible Migraine Headaches. We, his Parents & I would much prefer something Natural / Herbal than him have to start popping pills at such a young age. PLEASE , HELP!
Answer:
I recognize where you are coming from. I am a migrane sufferer as in good health. The thing next to herbals is that they are not approved by the FDA. There is truely no way to relate what will happen while taking them and what work for some may not work for others. Also, hold on to a food journal as to what he eat daily. This will facilitate you find out if the migranes are triggered from certain foods or not. I enjoy to avoid sharp cheddar cheese, if I eat more than 2 slices, I am guaranteed a migrane. Please agree to your childs doctor and see what he recomends.
What works for me is taking a shower and laying on the tub floor and letting the marine massage my cranium. I know it sounds like it won't work and that it will gross it more painful, but it doesn't! There is something roughly speaking the constant pounding on my head really ease the pain.
I use heated ginger slices
fry the ginger slices on the stove top
then apply to his cranium and tie a towel around his head
though the hot ginger will hurt a bit
but its an excellent remedy
Please steal the kid to see a doctor. Its could just be food allergies, but its better to wish help than cold-shoulder what might be a bigger problem. I have suffered beside migraines since 5 years old, and am presently finally getting treatment for it.
Yes there are especially good alternatives. You can see what the National Institute of Health have to say at www.holisticworks.us beneath the "Scientific Research Link" and "Clinical Studies" link.
Gosh that's a tough one due to his immature age. You probably already know that he should avoid certain "triggers," such as chocolate, cheese or nuts. Also, seasonal allergies sometimes inspire an episode to come on. The last time I have a killer of a migraine, I made scrambled eggs and put as much hot sauce as I could stand on them. By the time I be done eating it, everything surrounded by my head of late drained and I felt the migraine disappating. Maybe nurture him something spicy then lay him down contained by a dark, cool room. Sure need you the best.
Does your grandson drink less river. When you have a headache when you wake up up and drink some water, the headache gone. I don't think the child at that age will enjoy migranes that early. It is usually adults own it.
I'm a chiropractor & often children respond very well to gentle chiropractic adjustment for headaches/ migraines. Other times there may be something surrounded by his diet that is a trigger & it is terrifically important to maintain a food diary -- AND a headache diary to see how often he get the headaches & amount out the triggers. We do this for adults too. Sometimes you can figure it out surrounded by a matter of a week or 2, other times it may bring 6 or 8 weeks or longer of writing it all down to see a guide.
Call around a few chiropractors in your nouns or ask a few friends & see if you can find someone who sees a rational number of children in his/her practice.
* one piece you may want to start with is to use some fish grease... the omega 3 fatty acids are good for the brain & can sometimes sustain migraines (and wont harm him). nearby is a company called nordic naturals that make a kids chewable that is fruity you can bring in most vigour food stores.
good luck.
recurrently times children who had a difficult birth own changes surrounded by the curve of their neck that can front to many frequent symptoms as they age and interact with the world. You should find a Licensed Chiropractic Physician contained by your area who specializes surrounded by children. don't bother with the pallid pages they are complex to decypher. online in your nouns a person have a website who can probably help, so scrabble there first. the best piece is that children usually respond quickly to treatment - which is nil like what you own seen or hear about chiropractic manipulative analysis. and its safer than popping pills that is correct. if that is too much stir to soothe-a-ciser dot com and get their pillow it works most of the time.. well-mannered luck
Consider Neurofeedback

As others enjoy mentioned -- check the usual allergens -- such as wheat, corn, cheese, citrus, which can cause migraines if someone is allergic to these foods. A migraine preventive is the herb feverfew. Read up on it. It works as a migraine is coming on, not after someone have it. Not sure what a dosage for a child might be. Visit a health food store and ask for guidance on this.
