If you ask fifty different population (men and women) how sex feels, you'll probably acquire fifty at least slightly different answers. It depends on you, on your partner, on the circumstances, on the intentions, on your mood, on your experience, etc.
More frequently women/girls would voice it "hurt" than guys would, though it does not "hurt" for all women the first time. I longing I was one of those women. ha ha.
The just reason I can presume of that it would "hurt" a guy is if there be insufficient lubrication and it pulled on his skin. Other than that, I don't think plentiful guys would complain that sex hurt.
For those women who do experience discomfort or pain contained by the beginning, it's usually related to individual nervous/tense, insufficient lubrication and being unused to the sensation. However, these reason for pain or discomfort are overcome next to practice and the patient thoroughness of your partner.
Sometimes sex can cause discomfort in general public with condition problems such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis (sp?), yeast infection, etc.
