it is often prescribed for relations with low blood magnesium level so gluconate is a great form to get it within. remember that it is a supplement not a replacement for proper nutrition so the rda for magnesium is 300-400 mg so unless you are taking it for a particular origin other than supplementation you may want to not budge above that dosage. high dosages can exact digestive upset.
