Though the author refers to a cooperation that is immediately outdated, he reiterates his findings that adding sugar, milk, lemon or honey do not interfere beside antioxidant absorption. From a dieting/caloric intake standpoint, you might consider stevia or xylitol instead of sugar. I prefer xylitol as it not as overly concentrated as stevia and doesn't hold an aftertaste.
