Mixing Melatonin and alcohol?
I mean, a likely amount of alcohol, like two drinks or something, (not boozing adjectives night long)and afterwards take a Melatonin.any apology why I shouldn't do this?
Answer: I have taken Melatonin shortly after have a drink (about 4oz. of rum mixed with a cup of cola. It seemed to put me to sleep a bit quicker. Not the sort of thing you want to do on a nightly foundation but I'm not aware of any negative effects.
sleep tight ( you should exonerate the pun)
Alcohol actually stimulates the faint-hearted system before depressing it, so it may save you from sleeping. Interesting question, I purloin melatonin from time to time, so I was curious too.
I found a writer on Erowid who say that you really shouldn't take melatonin near alcohol, because the combination will mess with your sleep cycle, put together you feel even groggier surrounded by the morning, and possibly cause particularly bad nightmares (and I've experienced the "strong dreaming" that's supposed to be an occasional side effect of melatonin, I don't imagine I'd like to see what variety of nightmare he's talking going on for.)
About.com also recommends not taking melatonin beside alcohol. Interesting.
It is NOT a good entry to mix alcohol with any medication. It can result in serious twist to organs of the body, especially to liver and kidneys.
