Has anyone tried Ginseng for stress or depression?


I know that it's not too commonly used for those purposes. But a friend of mine swears it works.

Ginseng is mainly used for memory, not stress. Any sort of tea will bring a tranquil effect, thus making you feel smaller amount stressed.
I had a friend whose friend smoked Ginseng cigerettes--I saw the pack. Funky smelling crap. I'M NOT PROMOTING TAKING UP SMOKING, but they said it help with stress. Ask your doc past wasting money on Ginseng.
I tried some ginseng tea a few years ago and i swear I got horny...which could combat depression I guess....:)
Look up St. John's Wort it is doing wonders for me.
Ginseng is considered a stimulant and is agreed to raise blood pressure. I own never heard any anecdotal stories almost it working for stress...if you try it and feel your heart race or you cannot sleep; quit taking it...

As noted:St John's Wort(most common treatment for stress/anxiety and depression contained by Europe) works well.
Chamomile tea is another apt one that works very swiftly. IF there is NO haphazard ot a drug test next drinking a tea made of poppy seeds does work like greased lightning too...


Note it is NO joke that poppy seeds(even on pastry) will hold you from passing a drug interview.
If you are a woman, Korean Ginseng is not advised for stress - it can in reality make you more retiring. You can try Siberian Ginseng to boost your immune system. I never heard of using Ginseng - any features - for depression. St. Johns worth might be a better option.
I know it can relief elevate the mood. I use St. Johns Wort, but I have hear of people supplementing beside ginseng as well.
