Adult ADD- Looking for a natural medicine alternative?

Hey Everyone,

I own adult ADD and am perscribed medication but was looking for a unprocessed alternative, I have heard Tyrosine and DLPA work great for mood, focus, concentration, liveliness and alertness (other stimulants such as strong coffee, ginseng, energy pills have never helped) I be wondering how much I should take each hours of daylight and what the best quality brand is? also, please share if there are other alternatives, I work long hours still involve something to help me with what my perscription did. I don't mind the worried jitterly feeling others complain about so any give a hand and suggestions is much appreciated, thanks!

Answer:    Actually, Fish Oil has be found to be very effective and beneficial towards ADD and ADHD. The L-Tyrosine might sustain since that primarily helps with the Thyroid, Adrenal, and Pituitary glands... but it help a little for brain health because of that.
As far as dose, the best party to ask the exact dose you should be taking would be a doctor. they are the only ones that can legally narrate you the dose you should take. You could just purloin a bottle and follow the directions on it, and there are people that try taking a sophisticated dose to see how well that works, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
As far as "best brand", any answer given here will in recent times be personal opinion (I can give you my judgment if you'd like). There are many higher point companies out there that are readily available and economically priced... just make sure the company have a good rating with any the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia), as those are the main quality assurance organization (USP is for the U.S., GMP is for the U.S. and worldwide).
Good luck!.
I am going to give a very specific answer to your cross-question based on my own personal experience. Years ago I used an all untaught supplement called Omega Sun blue green algae. I do not sell this product so I am not trying to take home a buck with this answer.

When using it, I noticed more focus and concentration and smaller number anxiety. I suspect that it supplied some specific nutrients that were perhaps undersupplied in my system, but I cannot say for sure.

Another point I know will work is a nootropic supplement called Piracetam. You can get this any nunber of places online and within some health food stores. It increases ATP synthesis in the brain, and appears to relieve focus, mood, creativity, and your brains processing speed. If you use it, be sure to take some supplementary form of choline such as lecithin, or make sure you are consumption eggs or another food that contains choline, as ATP synthesis requires acetylcholine which the body needs choline to make.

Pick up a book call "The EDGE Effect" by Dr. Eric Braverman. The book is an extensive resource for promoting brain health written by one of the worlds foremost experts on brain health..
My son contained by law also has mature ADD and did not like taking prescription medication. I am associated with a condition and wellness company that offers antioxidant and omega 3 products. After being on these supplements for 1 week both my son surrounded by law and daughter noticed a significant transmute in symptoms. Look at this website: http://www.kyani.net/index.php One of the best things you can do is go bad all sugar and gluten. It really changes everything and while it may give the impression of being difficult - it is your body after all. It takes a bit of commitment to go and get off of those things but once you do, you won't even like the penchant of them later..

I've tried several alternative treatments on top of my prescribed dexamphetamine, I can personally vouch for (L-)tyrosine, and nearby is evidence to suggest that it does help, especially in combination near stimulant medications.

How it works:
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which plays an important role contained by concentration, memory and problem solving. It has been observed to be lower surrounded by ADD sufferers. It is also used to make similar chemicals such as noradrenaline and adrenaline (epinepherine). Dopamine cannot cross from the blood to the brain, it has to be made contained by the brain from levodopa, which is first synthesized from tyrosine.

Tyrosine and levodopa *can* cross the blood-brain barrier so it's possible to supply these precursors to the brain. I think if amphetamines overstimulate dopamine production these precursers may be depleted so supplementary precursors might promote concentration. It is thought that tyrosine can help concentration on its own as well.

I enjoy found in the past that taking L-tyrosine help prevent the impaired concentration and fatigue that occurs when the medication wear off.

DLPA, is a phenylalanine supplement. It works the same process, if the body needs tyrosine it can make it from phenylalanine. Tyrosine is probably more reorganized.

Finally you might want to try a stronger prescription dose, or maybe energy drinks, which contain caffeine and other vitamins which are thought to assist neural functions.

Hope this help.
