Why does medicare australia pay for acupuncture done by GPs, who know so little about acupuncture, but not pay for acupuncture done by acupuncturists?
It's a discriminatory & irrational policy.
Why can't my acupuncturist, who give me a 1-hr consultation, refer me to a lab for blood tests? But my GP, who did not even pick up a stehtoscope or check my temperature when I was sick, can?
Why are work therapists allowed to do acupuncture just because they call it dry needle.

that sounds scary. too tons buddies making up your health laws. i,m from the u.s., the country that the obama admin. has inferior to convince that their health care system is failing. there are vastly strict laws about acupuncture. you have to be state licensed, which way you pass a test administered by licensed acupuncturists.
It's because your country/continent is contained by an area where everbody and their ancient grandmother think they know herbal medicine (e.g., white rhino horn will give you a woody) and who also think they know how to acupuncture away the evil spirits.
This has to be a leading concern for your government, which has a mandate to protect the population.
It's politics greed and money. I recently discovered this site that talks about the non-acupuncturists performing acupuncture.
