Alternative medicine for cats?
is here a natural medicine for laryngitis contained by cats?
Answer: The only thing I can contemplate of would be a homeopathic remedy. Some of these (like Bach's Rescue Remedy) work quite well on animals.
I checked out Newton's site because they cause remedies for pets but all they had contained by the animal line was for cough. There is one for ancestors with hoarseness and you could adjust the dosage according to weight. Read something like it here: https://www.newtonlabs.net/store/viewIte...
If the cat has laryngitis from howling a long time, the best treatment may be to alleviate his distress and let time make well. If he has a cough or cold, you probably ought to have a vet look at it to take home sure it's not serious or contagious..
It is cruel to use altmed on cats. The only effect from this stuff is placebo (at best).
In the worst case scenario you may use it on your cat, and if you have faith in it, you may convince yourself that it HAS worked... even though it have not worked and your cat is still suffering. (This well-known phenomenon is called bystander bias).
A responsible, caring pet owner uses only evidence-based prescription on their animals..
I am more into dogs than cats, however I would think that honey should help. As an anti inflammatory for myself, I would use St John's Wort, however I don't know if this is secure for cats and dogs. Someone will hopefully come in on this Why does the cat have laryngitis? From a cold or virus use immune support herb.
I use Animals Apawthecary immune support..
There are a number of Homeopathic remedies that could treat this.
It depends on the symptoms-eg- has he get a cough? Is he coughing anything up?Is there alot of swelling ?
What is his mood ?.
Tea tree oil is especially venomous to cats! Should not be used topically or ingested. tea tree and lavender rubbed on the cats throat oils will be absorbed into the blood stream
