Any Tips For Meditation?

Does anyone have any tips on medititation? Ive read up alot about it, about how it relives stress, and will lend a hand me to mellow out and relax and be more focused. Does anyone medititate? Do you feel relived after it?How do you keep your concentration?

Answers:    There are lots of different kinds of meditation, probably because there are different kinds of individuals. One popular method is to focus on a sound or mantra. This calms the mind down so you don't have a great deal of distracting thoughts. You can say to yourself "so" as you inhale and "hum" as you exhale. You can do the same with sit naam (pronounced "sot nom") or even the word "re-lax".

For people who are more visual, you can imagine yourself within beautiful surroundings, like the beach, the forest, the mountains. You can visualize someone you contemplate is spiritual, like Jesus, the Buddha, an angel, or whatever works for you.

Folks who are more body oriented can focus on their breath or on some other body sensation.

I suggest you try a quantity of different forms of meditation to find what works best for you. Also, it helps to talk with a meditation mentor and go to a class to get complete instructions and meet others who are meditate. Lots of luck.

a music that soothes the soul is an important part of meditation and silence can be another. it is good if you meditate near a partner or an instructor, someone who will guide you along the way. in meditation, it isn't only the mind that should be relaxed but your mind should instruct your physical body (your foot, hands, legs, arms, shoulders, body, head) to relax. that is actually the starting point so you'll finish a successful meditation, and soon you will experience what you read in your books.

Build up your timing gradually.If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril beside thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close gone nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed philosophical breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 5 to 20 minutes.

You can do this earlier breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take low long breaths into the lungs.You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

And still trying to find ways to relax? Wow im impressed. Back on topic, I recently quit smoking (it was my form of relaxation) 3 weeks ago, and realized it is adjectives about breathing methods that relaxes you, so instead of smoking, I breath the way I would if I was smoking a cigarette, and I sink right into my stool from relaxation. i usualy fall right asleep while medatating.
deep breath in. slow exhale out.
concentrate on it until you see the pale.
concentrate on the light until you can feel the vibrations.
concentrate on the vibrations until you see the blue waves of restrained.
after that you can leave the body.

Question for the PROfessional Stoners and MMJ..

I've tried meditation and it didn't work for me, I was too "energetic of the mind." What does work for me is the tub and body eucalyptis and spearmint aromatharapy. It istantly releaves stress and lets me feel relaxed and calm.
