Band-aid substitution?
I have a big gash,
what do I use instead of a band-aid because I ran out?
Answers: A piece of clean white cloth near tape over it will do in a pinch. Only problem is the bandage will stick. Put a bit of petroleum jelly on the covering to help prevent that. Pull the tape so the gash is closed, and of course use a bactericidal product on it. Some herb for this are tea tree oil OR cayenne pepper OR goldenseal root. If you don't have anything else, use table sugar to kill germs.
If you use bajakma's solution (which works close to a charm and stops all bleeding instantly), make sure you clean the wound REALLY REALLY all right prior to this as you WILL trap in a source for infection. Happened to me, it will happen to you.
If it's really bad (like need stitches), wash it, super glue it, and ER.

Try a wet towel and hold it on if your bleeding and dawdle till it stops and try getting a napkin, and tape it on with normal cassette or medical tape. ha, thats what i do.you can always strip the napkin so its not too big.
