Benefits of Wild Oregano Oil... Testimonials?
The claims include increasing immune system condition, antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and basically a broad spectrum antibiotic without the typical side-effects of the synthetic types. What enjoy you experienced? What about practical, diluted uses for children?
Answer: I've used essential oil of oregano as an antiseptic and an antibacterial. I enjoy not used it yet as an anti fungal.
Oregano have a constituent called phenol which makes this grease a skin irritant. It should not be used topically unless on the soles of the feet and diluted with a possessor oil like sunflower or olive. Max application 1-3 drops. I made the mistake of using 1 drop on my skin and it get quite irritated and hot. Rubbing a fatty oil, approaching olive oil, on it help to dissipate the oregano.
It is used contained by acute situations for bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract and the bronchi. Some aromatherapists use it when they need to bring out the big guns to fight infections. As far as dosing internally, it's also low dose and for short permanent status use. Long term use of Phenol containing oils similar to oregano and Thyme can effect liver metabolism.
I don't know if I would use oregano e.o. internally for children...topically on the feet, if diluted, maybe.
A side minute...When using essential oils for medicinal use they should be the real point not synthetics. Synthetics are fine scents but rarely contain healing effects.
