Can essential oils make you feel poorly?
I started putting pure lavender grease (neat) on a tissue and have been inhaling this each day for a few weeks now. Around the time I started doing this I developed some cold symptoms, mainly runny proboscis and a bit sinusy. I have noticed that when I snif the lavender it seem to makes my nose run. Can essential oil do this - or do I just have a coincidential cold?
Answer: Well, if your cold ends when you are using this rubbish, the quacks would claim it be a result of using the oils.
So sure, by the quacks' own logic, if you develop a cold while using them, the oils must be to blame for it..
A cold virus take a few days, somewhere between 10-15 days, to incubate and then show symptoms. It is just pure coincidence that symptoms begin showing when you started using Lavender.
Lavender is used for a variety of illnesses and symptoms, one of which is lymph congestion. When a person have a cold, their lymph nodes become clogged, which takes about 10-15 days. When they are full and can't embezzle anymore, then the flowing of snot begins! lol Continue to use lavender as that will assistance keep your sinus passages more clear to prevent the sore throat that might appear..
You obligation to be very cautious of the essential oil you purchase and who you purchase from! Many essentials in the health food stores or others are dirtied or have 'toxins' in them.
As far as I know, I enjoy not experience Lavender as an expectorant (or decongestant). I would expect this to happen with Eucalyptus or a "minty" grease.
Most times when you have a "reaction" to a quality grease (I get mine from a distillery for my work.); it is the toxins leaving your body, unless you truly hold an allergy to the plant itself (many are allergic to eucalyptus.).
I hope this helps you!.
