Answers: Drugs work by either forcing a specific reaction that the body wouldn't customarily have or by turning off some natural function... any way, they are used to get a desired result. The problem is, when you force your body to do something it wouldn't otherwise do, there are almost other side effects.
Anytime your body does or tries to do something it's not able to or not supposed to do, there's always risk of causing problems... even when you try to move up something too heavy, you can strain a muscle.
In your other question I gave a biddable example of acid-blocking drugs, but that is not a rare example. Cholesterol blocking drugs are similar... parts of your body need cholesterol to function properly, including the brain. Now, on the other hand, at hand are drugs that force certain reactions instead of blocking them... energizers like caffeine is a pious example. http://www.drugs.com/cons/caffeine.html points out that it can cause fast heartbeat, irritability, or even unusual tiredness (again, among many others) because your body isn't supposed to produce or use that much perkiness. marijuana has THC which makes you high. it kill off several braincells at a time, which goes to show, it's better to be ignorant.
prozac and other anti depressants and mood stabilizers commonly mess with the amount of serotonin in your head. it never worked for me.
