Child's Weight?

I am getting vastly concerned. Over the past year my 8 year old daughter have put on a large amount of weight. By significant I mean about 30 pounds. She to a certain extent average to slightly below average in height. Right presently she weighs about 80 pounds. Tonight be the final blow when she tried 3 pairs of shorts I bought her in a 10/12 and she couldnt button them. Her father and I are both average sized people. We could both probably use to lose a few pounds but nil major. The doctor did order some test but she doesnt seem to be concerned. I however am very concerned. I verbs that this is not normal and that it is not healthy. Has anyone out near had a situation like this to point me surrounded by the right direction to getting her some help.
Please dont tell me she is going through a growth spurt.this is going on to long for that. She is a in shape eater and does not eat to an excess. I know at this age I should not put her on a diet. Is there an alternative medication or suppliment that regulates this?

Answer:    I would be concerned as well. 30# gain in one year for an 8 year frail is way too much. First, I would change doctors, as I don't believe you get good councelling - choose a pediatrician who also is interested in alternative pills. I suppose that there is some kind of a metabolic problem, and the doctor should enjoy suggested maybe not a diet, but change surrounded by the type of food she eats. She should avoid eating the largest dinnertime for dinner and eat it at least 2-3 hours past going to sleep. Eating 5 small meals supports higher metabolic rate, thus, might relieve her process the calories faster.

Is she active? Sports, dancing, walking, adjectives of that would help her to adjust her metabolic rate. Food rich in vegetables and fruits, even going lacto-vegetarian probably would help. There are very few vegetarian (sportsmen and dancers) who are overweight! Avoid all sodas, they are high within calories and if they are low-calorie type, the artificial sweeteners in them are outright dangerous. If she like sweets, stevia is a natural sweetener with no calories, have been used for hundreds of years and is supposedly even good for loosing bulk and improve dental health, and even diabetics can use it. It is said that it help cure sweet tooth cravings.
I dont know what to tell you however if you figure out what it be that made her gain let me know as both of my kids are severely underweight (9yr old-51 lbs and 13yr old -70 lbs) its the food we consumption, nothing else, go to this site drsebi.com read up and later give them a call and they will email or distribute you a nutritional guide that will be great to follow and they have cleansing products that works, and slowly or faster add to your current style of drinking and change it. cause that BLOOD(meats) and STARCH(man made plants or hybrid plants) that we get through is the cause of all things unsavoury..
Hi there

I wouldn't recommend giving any child medicine for dietary desires. My advice would be to make sure she eat plenty fruit, vegetables, vitamins and gets plenty active exercise. Most children at the moment don't get enough running around time to abet expend their natural 'puppy fat' so it may just be that she requirements to take up a physical hobby like dance or Judo or something that will give her a physical outlet and increase her self esteem. Children can be cruel to larger kids. My friend's son had a cargo issue until he spurted up. He's only 12 and already stands at 5'7" in socks! She may grow into her organic weight, but just to be undisruptive I would watch her dietary intake. If you show too much concern your daughter may take it on the bus without realising and give herself a complex. Help her find an outlet where on earth she can feel happy and hold fit at the same time, is my humble suggestion. Hope that helps :-)
