Coconut Oil question?


I know that coconut coil have many great qualities, but, cannot appear to bring myself to just eat it buy haveing a spoonful. My grill is, when you cook with it, does heating it up incentive it to lose any of it's good properties? I put it in my pasta gravy & also on my bread until that time putting it in the toaster. Does doing this make it any smaller number good?


Answer:    Cooking any oil does steal away some of the nutritional benefits it may have (if any), especially any Essential Fatty Acids. Coconut Oil is normally used because of the Medium Chain Triglycerides, so heat it won't have much of a problem. I know a lot of our customers close to to use Coconut Oil as a spread like butter (on toast, in foods, or whatnot)... try out a few different recipe if you don't like the taste of it alone..
Actually, coconut grease has a higher burn temp than olive grease, so yes you can cook with it, and it's very mouth-watering. You can also bake with it, using it as a sub for butter or other grease. Brownies taste divine using coconut oil.

Just be sure that you use life, extra virgin. It's the purest and best. :).
Actually, cooking with coconut oil is not supposed to lose any of its properties. It leaves rather different taste but I use it all the time. I hold read that some people add it to their coffee. I haven't brought myself to try that on the other hand. It is also great for your skin. Just rub it on like any other lotion. It is ideal for cooking, but masses of the brands available contain partially oxidised, or even slightly rancid oil (not worthy!). Go to www.mercola.com and enter it in the searchbar. Use minimal heat, when cooking anything, as it not simply destroys vitamins, but creates undesirable compounds..
Coconut oil does have tons great benefits. I, also don't like taking it by itself, blech!
