www.mercola.com is a good place to start, provided you forget about his relatively bad pr skills (and don't bother buying most of what's offered). I read his site for about 2 years continuously and it give me the baselevel of knowledge that made me "competent to understand/interact with everything contained by the field of alternative medicine."
After that it get much trickier, as it depends on exactly what you're looking for.
I would also heavily recommend against quackwatch.com
You can look it up if you don't believe me, but the guy that runs it has no credentials in most of the stuff he "debunk," is paid by the AMA to attack non conventional treatments, and flat out lies a lot to prove his side correct..

Why bother taking drugs based on flawed science with no proper quantifiable evidence behind it? Because it's harmless? It's non-hazardous indeed... All the alternitive medicines have not be studied with a properly controlled blinded study. There's just no proof.
Before empire come and go "Well I had this or that and homeopathy cured me." Try and come to me next to an illness that does not have a veriable outcome and convey me alt med cured it.
People pushing (not studies) is one reason why homeopathy is too popular today.
