The Dr. who called in the prescription for my daughter (who is 7 and weighs a touch over 50 pounds) prescribed one teaspoon of 250mg Amoxicillin for her strep infection 3 times a day. Answers:    yes it is the correct dose, that is what my doc give me for my daughter's strep. As for the fever, it is okay to give her tylenol for her fever at matching time as being on the antibiotic.
