Do you believe the stories about aspartame are fact or myth? Do you have facts available to back your answer?
Answer: Well consuming artificial chemicals does NOT really sound that good does it.
The following motion picture is excellent:

Interviews with real folks who are really sick from consuming aspartame.
"Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World"
The film reveals one of the most pervasive, insidious forms of corporate negligence since tobacco.
The toxic long-term effects of aspartame are often dismissed as a "hoax" by the sweetener industry; however this clean documentary thoroughly unravels something infinitely more alarming than merely a "hoax".
..
I believe aspartame is very bad for your robustness. Studies have shown that in persuaded doses, it can cause cancer. Indeed i do !! That stuff is toxic sludge hun . check out this link, it may be usefull for you ~

The bottom line is that our bodies don't recognise these chemically adjusted forms of sugar and as such they can and will grounds untold damage to our precious health & zing .... ;0)

oops, sorry, missed a bit, ..... what Aspartame does is block the satiety receptors in your brain ~ you know that feeling when you are full (sated)?? Well, when you are ingesting food or drinks lace with this sludge, you don't recognise that feeling of have had enough and you consequently over indulge .. seems ludricrous to me that a product that is market to help you lose weight will contained by actual fact help you gain substance as you will consume far more than if you were just intake plain old sugar

CHEERS
.
Saccharine isn't Splenda. Sweet & Low is saccharine, and it is much sweeter than sugar.
Splenda is derived from sugar, through a awfully chemical process. It is a one to one substitution for sugar, which makes diabetic baking a lot easier.
Aspertame is used mostly within drinks. It has not be thoroughly tested in the Unites States. It is thought to head to neurological problems when used in excess.
I think here is some truth to the myths, because it is chemically related to formaldahyde and other nasties. I have no proof..
I believe the stories are true. People want to claim that because we do not have medical studies to back us up we must be quacking up the wrong tree BUT how many society died before they had irrefutable study to prove cigarettes cause cancer.
How many nation died from Vioxx, chantrix, celebrex, prozac and many other drugs that are still on the market because Merck and others claim they are undisruptive.
People say that msg is safe but I own a bad allergic reaction to it. Same next to aspartame I believe it effects different people differently from temporary blindness to MS and parkinsons.
I believe the more raw what you ingest is the healthier you will be. BUT there ARE some things surrounded by nature we are not meant to ingest any..
Anything that seems too good to be true probably is. Sweet near no calories AND no long-term issues? I doubt it. go to pubmed.com and look up "aspartame adverse events", and see what has be published in the peer-reviewed medical literature. This will give you a better answer to your quiz than telling you what I believe, because my own beliefs do not necessarily prove much..
When in doubt around a particular artificial sweetener, stick to a REAL NATURAL sweetener such as
PURE HONEY- beware of commercial honeys as some have sugar added to them- or
STEVIA which comes from stevia leaves -a South-American plant- and is available lower than the name SteviSweet in different forms e.g. powder, pills, etc... Stevia is used by diabetics : it is inherent, tates good and has no specified side effects..
I believe the myths because anything that isn't natural is going to be bad for you. Any chemical, non-natural substances I would beware of. There be many reports against artificial sweeteners, but supressed by the manufacturers' lobbies.
There is one natural sweetener that is to say available, although, FDA allows it to be called only a nutritional supplement: Stevia. This herb have been used as a sweetener in Japan and other countries for centuries, have no calories, actually, I just read that it is not one and only good for you (and even can be used by diabetics), it helps you to slim down weight and in some cases you no longer own the sweet cravings. Supposedly, it is also good for your teeth.
well i know its no apt because its artificial. so there you have it. its whats contained by all the diet drinks, lite, low fat, curtail sugar, etc. are those people loosing weight that's drinking it. If you want suitable sweeteners use pure maple syrup, or the Agave nectar. cane sugar or regular sugar is no good its made from a hybrid plant(plants that are made by man not nature) particular as cane. Check out www.truthaboutsplenda.com for more info about it. It is NOT saccharin. It is call sucralose. It is sugar that has been chemically altered by accumulation chlorine! It is NOT a safe product. The fact that they marketplace it to families with babyish children is sickening.
So far, the only thing close to human being safer and an alternative that I've found is xylitol. The only downsides i've found is a laxative effect if consumed in larger quantity (until your body gets used to it), and the price. We use it only within our coffee and have had none of the lax. effect..
i remeber reading abotu aspartame within my biochemistry book from school... it gives u neurological problems thats why those tend to get headaches if they get through too much of it..
but splenda (saccharin) is so far the one sweetner that doesnt do anyting to u since u dont metabolize it.. it goes right thro ur body just lik fiber
sacharin is a deriviate of sucrose..so its made from sugar.
I believe it is true. My mother used to drink Diet Soda, and coffee near Equal religiously. She suffered from severe headaches, stomach cramping and general intestinal discomfort. When the findings for aspartame come out...(O sometime in the 90's)she quit drinking the diet pop and no more Equal in the coffee. Magically those symptoms go away. (kinda like all the consumer excess of the nations...put the trash on the curb...and poof...it's gone)
